Lisa’s greatest joy is to connect with women face to face, creating a safe space for them to be seen and known. She has spoken to thousands of women across the Midwest, Tennessee, and Colorado and would love to travel and share God’s Truth as far as He would see fit. If you would like Lisa to speak at your women’s event, weekend retreat, moms group, or conference, send an email to LBonnema23@gmail.com.

The following is a list of current speaking topics categorized by audience, but custom talks are available upon request.

Women’s Events/Retreats/Conferences:

God is in the Details (*New for 2025)
When life gets hard, it’s easy to feel discouraged and forgotten. How could a good God allow this? How could this possibly be a part of His plan? In this hopeful talk, we will get real about life’s struggles but then zoom in to see all the ways God is still working and moving behind the scenes. Using the book of Ruth, we will see how our God masterfully and lovingly lines up the details of our lives for our good, for the good of the Kingdom, and most importantly, for His glory.

Relearning Friendship
Friendship changes as we get older, but it is still important — and even necessary — to make the time for community as we journey through this life. This talk discusses what it looks like to build a village, how to be vulnerable, and the importance of handing out as much grace as you hope to receive.

Overcoming Comparison
The temptation to compare has always been a struggle for moms. However, in today’s hyper- connected world, the pull to compare is stronger than ever, leaving too many women feeling unworthy, ashamed, and discontent. But we can choose another way—a way that leads to freedom and joy. This talk encourages and equips moms to climb out of the comparison trap and confidently walk into the life God has uniquely designed for them.

Embracing Rest
As women, we are sleep-deprived and overwhelmed, but I think most of us feel more than tired. We often feel—or are starting to feel—empty. In a culture that pressures us to “do it all,” it is important that women still give themselves permission to rest, refill, and restore. This talk discusses how women can provide rest to their whole selves—mind,  body, and soul. (*Interactive workshop option available — a great option for smaller groups!)

Falling into Grace
Too often, we feel like we are not enough as women, as moms, as wives. The world expects us to be graceful and poised, yet most of us feel like we are faltering and falling short. In those moments, we have two choices: We can look around and fill ourselves up shame, or we can look up and fill ourselves with God’s grace. In this talk, we will look at the basic definition of grace, how we can position ourselves to receive it, and the freedom we can experience by living in it.

In Step with the Spirit
As Christians, we often live like we are here, and God is “up there” somewhere. We go through life, trying to reach for Him or get closer to Him when the truth is that God is right here, with us. Some of us even try to climb some invisible ladder and earn our way to God. But that’s not the kind of God we serve. The God we serve came to earth as Jesus and sent the Holy Spirit to live within us. This talk discusses what it looks like to “do life” with God — how to walk in step with Spirit and how to trust Him every step of the way.

Everyday Savior
This is my personal testimony of how God used a desperate time in my life to show me that I needed Jesus every day and in every situation. When I discovered I was going to be the mother of a child with special needs, my whole life flipped upside down. Weaving together my story, God’s word, humor, and practical tips, I hope to show a generation of “superwomen” that giving their day-to-day burdens over to the Lord isn’t a sign of failure. It’s a gift that unlocks the joy He has always intended for their lives.

Simplifying Christmas
Let’s make this Christmas the year we simply enjoyed. The year we hugged more and laughed first and didn’t get stuck in the tangled mess of stuff we often let creep into the season. This talk gives practical tips of how we can focus more on the who—not on the what—of Christmas.

The Light of Christmas
Sometimes we get so lost in the surface-level joy and manufactured sparkle of the Christmas season that we forget to focus on the real message of Christmas: That Jesus left the glory of God to dwell among us—not only to defeat the darkness, but to remind us that when life feels hard and lonely, there is always hope, as long as we keep looking to the Light.

Let it Snow
The winter season can often feel long and dreary, but like all of God’s creation, winter and all of its snowy goodness has something to teach us. This talk will help us reframe the winter season so we can see the unique ways it points us to hope, peace, and God’s love.

MomCo./Moms Groups:

Purpose over Perfection
No one expects us to be perfect, but that’s the underlying expectation we place on ourselves, isn’t it? We want the best for our kids, so we often beat ourselves up trying to give it to them and miss out on all the goodness right in front of us. This talk unpacks why we desire perfection, and how we can manage our expectations in healthy ways.

Relearning Friendship
Friendship changes once we have children, but it is still important — and even necessary — to make the time for community as we journey through motherhood. This talk discusses what it looks like to build a village, how to be vulnerable, and the importance of handing out as much grace as you hope to receive

Parenting in Faith—Not Fear
No one wants to parent in fear, but the truth is many of us do it without even realizing it. We are so afraid of getting it wrong that we end up exhausting ourselves trying to create safety and security instead of enjoying the freedom that God offers when we trust in His provision. This talk takes a close look at how we can choose faith over fear as we parent, and how it might just be the best decision we ever make for ourselves and for our families.

Not Guilty—Letting Go of Mom Guilt
We all want the best for our kids, but the expectations we set for ourselves are often unreasonable and unrealistic. If we aren’t careful, that ongoing feeling of never being enough can choke the joy right out of our motherhood experience. This talk digs into where those feelings come from and how we can deal with them in a healthy way that benefits our souls and our family.

Daily Bread (without the peanut butter)
Time with God seems impossible when your days are filled with diapers, fights over princess dresses, and mountains of laundry. This short talk gives helpful tips on how to make God an active part of your life in the thick of motherhood.

I am a great many things: a "mom in progress" to three beautiful girls; a wife to my favorite person; a daughter of Christ; a writer; a lover of good coffee; a recovering perfectionist; and a hopeful romantic learning to find peace and joy in God alone. This is my story and His story.
